As we enter the stretch run of the baseball season the National League Most Valuable Player award is all but sewn up with Albert Pujols running away with it from day one and holding a comfortable lead. As we enter the middle of August the American League Most Valuable Player race is heating up and much like last year there is no clear cut favorite at this stage. Mark Teixeira, Joe Mauer, Kendry Morales, and Justin Morneau seem to be the top contenders but neither truly stands out from the rest of the contenders. The Pickle is here to give you who the front runners are for the American League Most Valuable Player Award and who seems to have the edge over the other contenders at this point of the year.
