MLB: The Yanks Officially Out on Damon
It would appear as though Johnny Damon's days in New York are officially over as Brian Cashman said Tuesday, "His abilities exceed my physical ability to keep my finances afloat." It would also appear that the Yankees are holding steady to the Steinbrenner's pledge to cut this year's payroll.

MLB: Yankees Deal for Javier Vazquez
The New York Yankees have acquired Javier Vazquez and Boone Logan from the Braves for Melky Cabrera, Mike Dunn, and $500,000 in cash. It is an interesting deal for the Yankees, to say the least, and I am kind of torn on whether it is a good move for them or not.

The Atlanta Braves dealt relief pitcher Rafael Soriano to the Tampa Bay Rays for fellow reliever Jesse Chavez, whom the Rays just acquired a little over a month ago when they dealt second baseman Akinori Iwamura to the Pirates.

MLB: Red Sox Acquire Victor Martinez Deal LaRoche
The Boston Red Sox made two deal within the last couple of hours leading up to the trade deadline. The marquee deal has the Sox sending Justin Masterson along with pitching prospects Bryan Price and Nick Hagadone to the Inidans in exchange for Victor Martinez. The second deal has them sending recently acquired Adam LaRoche to the Atlanta Braves for Casey Kotchman.
