Eagles Reward Weaver With New Contract
The Philadelphia Eagles rewarded Leonard Weaver for his first career Pro Bowl with a new contract making him one of the highest paid fullbacks in league history. Weaver and the Eagles have reportedly agreed to a 3-year deal reportedly worth up to $11.7 million.
Andy Reid can now put a check next to one of the things at the top of his off season to-do list. Retaining Weaver is essential to the team’s continuity on offense. He played a much bigger role in the offense than anyone thought he would last season scoring four times on 85 touches on offense including a 59-yard touchdown catch and a 41-yard touchdown run.
In addition to being named to the Pro Bowl last year Weaver was also named as a first team All Pro selection at fullback and is arguably the best in the game at his position.
